The Cooks Company, along with the City generally, has a strong relationship with City University London.
The Company is actively engaged with the governance of the University through its representative - Past Master (and City alumnus) Bob Grainger - on the university’s Court or ‘stakeholders’ body. This court meets annually, and our representative serves a five-year term of office on it.
The Company is also engaged through the relationship between its Charity Committee and City University’s Centre for Food Policy. The Centre was established in 2002, when Professor and Honorary Freeman Tim Lang was appointed Professor of Food Policy. The Centre provides teaching, research, and consultancy on food policy as it relates to every stage of the food supply chain. The Cooks provide financial support to the Centre as well as individual dissertation prizes for the MSc in Food Policy.
