Springboard - FutureChef
The Springboard Charity
The Springboard Charity helps young people achieve their potential, nurtures unemployed adults into work, and helps alleviate poverty by supporting people into employment within the UK hospitality, leisure, tourism, and related sectors. Regardless of age, gender, or background, Springboard can offer support and guidance into careers associated with hospitality, leisure, and tourism.
Springboard FutureChef Competition
The principle Springboard activity that the Cooks support is their FutureChef programme and competition.
Springboard’s FutureChef competition gives young people a life skill and encourages the next generation of chefs, while directly relating to the national curriculum. It aims to tackle the severe skills shortage facing hospitality by inspiring 12-16 year olds to develop their cooking skills and understanding of nutrition. In doing so, Springboard’s FutureChef provides a natural pipeline of talent to culinary careers. FutureChef also features a four-stage national competition and annually involves over 8,000 participants.
